We aren't ranked in the preseason rankings, what is going on?
The rankings are as accurate as possible, however, some teams slip through the cracks. We change rankings leading up to the season starting. Keep in mind these are a starting point. So if your team is not ranked, play and compete in high-level tournaments and you will get noticed!
How often are rankings updated?
Preseason February/March, End of Spring, End of Summer (Outdoors only). TBR Season runs from March-August.
Why doesn't TBR do rankings for Fall and Winter?
We believe strongly that overuse is a major contributor to catastrophic injures. Also, many kids are multi-sport athletes and don't play Fall/Winter ball, so having a season in place is crucial for the accuracy of the rankings.
What formula do you use?
We use outcomes from any highly competitive tournament- contingent on ranked teams that are playing in a particular tournament. This includes organizational type tournaments that are not sanctioned. We do not take into consideration league play, and encourage coaches to use this for development. The formula is pretty simple. Beat highly-ranked teams in bracket or win highly-competitive tournaments and you will move up. Did you beat a ranked team in bracket play? You will move up. Did you beat a team in pool but not advance far in bracket? You will get a quality win but not necessarily leapfrog that team.
How do I submit my team for consideration?
All submissions are completed through the rankings request form.
